Five thoughts on prenatal yoga and birth from a current student:

"Take what you have learned in Yoga and apply it to your birth. The breathing, poses, vocal toning; all of it got me through both times.

Move, Move, Move!!! The more you move around the better. Walk, squat, clean your kitchen, whatever!! Just don't lie there and wait for something to happen, because it won’t.

Surround yourself with a supportive team of people that understand your birth wishes and will see to it to the best of their ability to make it happen.

Don't be afraid to speak up and dictate what feels right for you during your birth experience.

Trust your body and surrender to its unique power and ability to do what it is meant to do. Your body is an amazing machine. Do not be afraid of birth, embrace it. If you do, your body will not fail you."
