Pilates Mat Class - Mondays at 6pm

Pilates is a non-impact system of exercise that focuses on the deep muscles of the abdomen and spine. It strengthens and tightens the abdominal muscles while protecting your lower back, aiding in injury prevention and spinal health.

The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning is based on the pioneering work of  Joseph H Pilates, a revolutionary trainer who founded his studio in NYC in 1926.  His system of exercises focuses on the core strength of the body and emphasizes proper alignment and correct posture.  Working in this method creates strength and long, lean muscles while the concentration and focus required energizes the mind.  Today Pilates is practiced worldwide by professional athletes, performing artists and ordinary people.  It is safe for students of all ages and abilities.

Annette Bressie Jackson, a certified Pilates teacher, brings sixteen years of experience from the ballet world to her teaching.  She began studying the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning while she was a member of the acclaimed Joffrey Ballet Company in New York City.  Upon retirement from a performing career, she completed her Pilates teacher's certification with Romana Kryzanowska, Ton Vooght, and Michael Fritzke.  Annette currently resides with her husband and two children in Westchester.
