1What class should I start with?
Variety is great, but especially if you are new to yoga, the schedule can be overwhelming. If you are unsure where to begin, please contact us and we’d be happy to offer some guidance. We always recommend that new students start with a Level 1 or Fundamentals Class. This will allow you to familiarize yourself with the poses and healthy alignment.
2What should I wear?
Wear something that is comfortable and easy to move in. We don’t wear shoes in class, but in the cooler months, you may want a pair of socks for deep relaxation.
3Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
If you have your own mat, great. Otherwise, we have mats and props in all the studios that you are welcome to use.
4Do I need to register in advance?
You do not need to sign up ahead of time, but for popular classes, for example weekend mornings, or busy times of year (September and January) it is a good idea. If you sign up ahead of time, you have until 30 minutes prior to the start of class to cancel your reservation and get an account credit.
5How early should I arrive?
We suggest arriving 15 minutes before class starts. This will give you time to check in, change if necessary, and get set up without feeling rushed. Even if you register ahead of time, please be sure to check in at the front desk and arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts.
6What if I'm late?
Sometimes life or traffic gets in the way. If you arrive late, please wait until after the opening meditation. Come in and setup quietly. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will have missed a significant part of the warm ups. It is at the teacher’s discretion whether it will be safe for you to join in. Please be aware that even if you sign up ahead of time, if you arrive late and class is full, your spot may be given to another student.
7What if I need to leave early?
If you need to leave early, please do so before final relaxation.
8How long is class?
Most classes are 75 minutes, but there are some that are 60 or 90 minutes, so please refer to the schedule.
9Where do I park?
In Tuckahoe, there is a lot adjacent to the building as well as parking on Main Street. In Scarsdale there are meters directly across the street from the studio. Bring quarters. Meters are in effect from 8am-7pm.
