Instructor: Sylvia Samilton Baker, MA, RYT-500
Sylvia Samilton-Baker has been a student of yoga for over three decades. She began attending Kripalu in the late 1980’s when taken for a day trip by her yoga teacher, Margo. She found her way to Yoga Haven where she completed the 200 hour teacher training with Betsy Kase. Subsequent study with Shiva Rea culminating in certification in vinyasa led to serious study at the advanced professional level (500 hour) at Kripalu which she completed in 2007. Teaching for the past 10 years, Sylvia believes yoga can be accessible to everyone. And, as well as teaching asana, pranayama and the other six limbs of the Ashtanga yoga tradition (and other systems of yoga), her dharma is getting others to live their yoga ‘off the mat’ as well as on.
