Training On Hold for 2020...
Are you longing for something thoughtful, inspiring and hopeful to carry you through the next couple of months? Join me to learn about the world of yoga, and how you as a person, can transform your daily experiences, open up your awareness and cultivate a more balanced, healthy life.
Because of the closure of both studios, and the uncertainty and safety of having a group of students in the room, we have postponed this training. My hope focuses in on spring 2021. If the ever changing COVID situation enables me to open a new studio, we will move ahead with an in-person training. I still believe this is the BEST way to become a well educated yoga teacher. There are aspects of a training that can be taught on-line, but I still believe most of the curriculum should be experienced in person.
Wish to speak further about the program, please email me:
Please fill out the online application so I can learn a little bit about you before we chat.
Once I receive your application, you and I will set up a time to zoom meet to go over your application and the program.
Things to think about when selecting a training...
In-person vs. On-line
The ongoing Covid situation makes it impossible to run a traditional, in person 200 hour teacher training. Some studios and organizations are responding with completely online programs. Personally, I hold Yoga Haven's training to too high a standard to offer it in an online format. This training is not about checking off boxes and banking hours to get a certification. The organic transformation that stretches over months spent interacting with your teachers and co-trainees cannot be translated to Zoom. We may not be touching our students for a long time, but learning how to observe, modify, demo and deeply connect in person is enormously important. Among so many things, these past few months have been a lesson in patience. You may be eager to sign up for an online training now to fill a void, I get it! I hope you will consider waiting with me until we can be in the studio, whether that be September, October or January, and continue with our 20 year tradition of training knowledgeable, compassionate teachers with a proven method.
In Person vs. Online Training
I’ve given a lot of thought as to how to run this program in the current climate, without compromising on material or experience of our traditional program. Luckily for you, last year’s group finishing up online provided valuable lessons for how to enhance this experience for you. Even if you decide to do the fully online option of this training, participating online with a local studio will enhance your ability to connect and develop lasting relationships beyond the end of this training when we can all be together again.
To Be Determined!
You are eligible to apply if you have been consistently practicing yoga for at least 18 months. We are not interested in your ability to perform “advanced” poses (arm balances, handstands, etc), we are more concerned with your body awareness and understanding of the basic poses. This does not guarantee acceptance. You will also be required to have an interview with Betsy Kase, Director of Yoga Haven.
Let's connect! Start by submitting an application here so we can get to know you and begin a conversation.
