Training Planned for the Fall
Are you longing for something thoughtful, inspiring and hopeful to immerse yourself in? Join me to learn about the world of yoga, and how you as a person, can transform your daily experiences, open up your awareness and cultivate a more balanced, healthy life.
We are hopeful, that this fall, we can begin a new 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in person! I still believe this is the BEST way to become a well educated yoga teacher. There are aspects of a training that can be taught on-line, but most of the curriculum should be experienced in person.
This fall's training will be held at HudCo, a local shared work and wellness community located in downtown Dobbs Ferry!
Wish to speak further about the program, please email me:
Please fill out the online application so I can learn a little bit about you before we chat.
Once I receive your application, you and I will set up a time to zoom meet to go over your
application and the program.
Things to think about when selecting a training...
In Person vs. Online Training
I’ve given a lot of thought as to how to run this program in the current climate without compromising on material or experience of our traditional program. This is why we waited to run our next training until it was possible to do so in person. When you have the opportunity to participate in a local studio's studios training, you enhance your ability to connect and develop lasting relationships beyond the training itself. As teachers and students it is a gift to be able to get the full experience of being in the room together learning!
September - December:
- Monday & Wednesday nights: 6-9pm
- One weekend a month, 4 weekends total
Friday nights: 6-8:30pm
- Monday & Wednesday nights: 6-9pm
- Wednesday nights: 6-9pm
- On your own time, studying and personal teaching practice
You are eligible to apply if you have been consistently practicing yoga for at least 18 months. We are not interested in your ability to perform “advanced” poses (arm balances, handstands, etc), we are more concerned with your body awareness and understanding of the basic poses. This does not guarantee acceptance. You will also be required to have an interview with Betsy Kase, Director of Yoga Haven.

Owner & Director of Yoga Haven
Betsy Kase, RYT-500, C-IAYT is the lead instructor of Yoga Haven’s 200 Hour Teacher Training Program. Each year, since Yoga Haven’s inaugural training in 1999, Betsy has given prospective teachers a supportive space to develop, not only as teachers, but as individuals. Betsy considers leading yoga students through the process of learning how to share their love of yoga is one of the most fulfilling parts of her life.
History & Philosophy
Jill Ganassi has been studying yoga philosophy since 1999 and teaching the history and philosophy portion of the Yoga Haven Teacher Training since 2003. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga instructor. She began studying psychology, philosophy, and the eastern spiritual traditions in her undergraduate schooling. Her strength as a philosophy teacher is in making the material applicable to the context of peoples day to day lives. At the same time she is able to cultivate a deeper understanding of the classical tradition of yoga and stays true to the history and the classical texts. She treasures the opportunity to have an on going conversation with fellow seekers about the big questions and use the yogic perspective to help explore the answers.
Finding Your Voice
Clare Mottola draws on her background in acting, directing and producing to work with trainees to find their teaching voice. Clare is the chair of the theatre and dance department at Fieldston, where she also teaches the school’s mindfulness curriculum. Clare received her 200 hour certification from Yoga Haven in 2004.
Anatomy & Physiology
Margaret Duggan teaches the Anatomy & Physiology section. She began studying it academically in college, but really became fascinated by the subject while trying to make sense of several injuries sustained rowing at the elite level, post-collegially with the US National Team. She has continued her studies in anatomy with a focus on the spine and yoga with Loren Fishman, MD, Alison West and Elise Browning Miller. Margaret teaches the anatomy & physiology section of Yoga Haven’s teacher training with the unique ability to make the material accessible and understandable for all types of learners.
