Class Descriptions

We have a class for everyone, from those brand new to yoga to those who are lifelong practitioners. Classes are categorized below by level. Find the class that lights you up. We can’t wait to see you on the mat.

Beginner and Up

  • This class moves at a more relaxed pace than a regular level 1. The needs and abilities of each student are respected in an atmosphere free of expectations. This class is geared towards those who haven’t practiced much yoga in the past, are recovering from an injury/illness or are interested in a slow thoughtful practice. Time will be spent on each pose exploring options and adapting with the use of props.

Please Note: You must be able to get up and down off the floor for this class. Also, Yoga Haven is located on the 2nd floor up one flight of stairs (there is no elevator).

  • Whether you're new to yoga or returning to your practice, this is the class for you. Enjoy a playful experience of foundational poses and sun salutations, introductions to breath practices and a deep relaxation.

  • This class is appropriate for beginners and beyond. It will safely introduce people to the foundations of postural yoga practice. Expect to spend time developing awareness of your body and its actions in a pose. For those with only vinyasa experience, this class offers a different perspective and a deep study of the traditional poses.

  • This basic level class will be gentler and slower than a regular level 1. It will consist of primarily restorative yoga postures to facilitate deep states of relaxation. The body is supported in “relaxing postures” and the complete group of postures move the spine in all directions. This is a great class for those new to yoga, with limited flexibility, those recovering from injuries or just want a great relaxation!

Beginner With Experience and Up

  • This class is geared toward students with little experience as well as seasoned practitioners. Class will include sun salutations, standing/balancing poses, forward/backward bends, twists and basic inversions taught within a flowing sequence.

Intermediate and Up

  • This challenging class is geared toward students with a strong yoga practice. Class will include sun salutations, standing/balancing poses, forward/backward bends, twists and inversions taught within a flowing sequence. More advanced breath practices may be introduced. Not appropriate for new beginners.
