The Art of Beginning Again

Wow — my first podcast interview with Kimberly Grocher was quite an experience! Kim is our beloved Yin Yoga Teacher, psychologist and reiki practitioner. Her professional practice is “housed” within the walls of Yoga Haven and made this conversation feel more special.

Being on her Thriving Outside the Box podcast was such a thrill. Listening back, I can hear a little nervousness in my voice as I talk about my winding path through life — and honestly, I’m still amazed at how I got here.

On paper, it might look like I followed a “normal” path, living inside the box like most people around here. But truthfully, these six decades have felt more like walking blindfolded with no map, figuring it out as I go.

Kim and I talked about so much — the twists and turns that led me to own a yoga studio, and the bigger question of why I do what I do.

Some of the things we explored:
✨ Always being outside the box, navigating life without a roadmap
✨ The perseverance it takes to start something new when it feels like all doors are closed
✨ Building a business in a tough industry, losing it during the pandemic, and finding the courage to start again
✨ Asking “why?” instead of just accepting “that’s how it’s always done”
✨ Helping others navigate a messy healthcare system while creating spaces for healing and community

It was such a joy to share my story — messy, winding, and completely mine.
